Crafty

I write for a living, but I craft for love.

I've been doing it all my life.

My interest in crafts was influenced by my mother, who did macrame, embroidery, papier mache, yarn rugs and carrot flowers for achara, among others.

Crafting means making things with your own hands. Neatly. Patiently. Uniquely. Beautifully.

It always begins with an idea. Or an inspiration. A trigger in your head – after seeing something you like – that says, "I can make that" or "I can do better than that!"

For me, one of the biggest thrills is finding the right materials to work with. I can live in a craft store, be it in Divisoria or in California.

Once, I accidentally walked into a craft store in Takashimaya in Singapore, and I squealed in delight as I explored every aisle. A few months ago, the squeals were were a decibel higher when I saw this  in Bangkok.
It was my first encounter with Goose. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I was so overwhelmed, I didn't buy a thing. Now I can't wait to go back.

Gift wrappers in mesmerizing prints.
Scrapbooking stuff. Kung anik-anik na kuchi-kuchi.
Assorted Martha Stewart embossers and punchers. Nakakabaliw.

Welcome to Carol Crafts. I am looking forward to writing about my inspirations, creations, passions.
We'll talk about the crafts I love:
Origami
Rubber stamping
Calligraphy
We'll also talk about beading, knot-making, paper craft, gift wrapping, party decor, chocolate molding, nail art and so much more. I'll take you to my secret sources of materials, share the tools I use, and tell you stories behind new, hand-made treasures. Maybe you can tell me yours, too!

Let's get crafting!
